Startup Founder Caught Driving for Amazon
Sep 08, 2024
There's a brother out here in the process of building a startup by the name of Malachi Horton, and I found out that he's a part-time an Amazon driver right now...
The most embarrassing part about this to me...
Is that there aren't more people out here doing shit like this!!! Shoutout to you bro!
Far too many of us are concerned with how shit looks on the outside. We've glorified the "founder" lifestyle and we think it's supposed to like a meteoric rise, living overseas wherever I want, driving fancy cars... and whatever other ridiculous ideas...
We don't realize that many of these supposed entrepreneur-influencers may not have the true wealth they appear to have, or they have someone else in their life footing the bill, or they got some "believe in you money" from their rich uncle, etc, etc.
And we forget that "success" isn't defined by ANYONE else. It can look like:
taking on some work to pay the bills while you build what's most important to you in the background
having a "regular-ass" job that takes care of you and your family with zero need to go build something else
sacrificing "lifestyle" to keep your expenses down so that you can afford the time to work on your passion even though it's not making you piles of money
being an "intra-preneur" where you get to use your entrepreneurial skills, like innovative thinking, at an organization you didn't start but whose mission you believe in
The theme of the month is: Do you. For you.
Fuck what it looks like to everyone else and please be willing to let go of all of these unreasonable ideals of what "success" is.
Get free, no matter the cost. Sometimes, the cost of freedom is our own outdated mindset and beliefs. Let go.
Here's the clip of Malachi telling his story, a must watch: https://www.linkedin.com/posts
